Associate will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions for industrial water treatment applications with the emphasis on water chemistry and digital solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
To support Light Water Digital projects in Brazil, to innovate in the field of digital industrial applications, working closely with Buckman stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the water industry, but also touching basis with other markets we serve, contributing to the success of Buckman’s digital strategy by collaborating with the digital team and successfully completing work on global projects. This role lies at the intersection of traditional Specialty Chemicals business and digital technology, leveraging Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, and other emerging tools. The role includes collaboration with diverse stakeholders including sales, chemical innovation professionals and marketing and will be involved in the entire life cycle of product development, including idea generation, rapid prototyping to develop MVP candidates, product development, and commercial deployment, working with colleagues, and external consultants to identify and develop digital solutions that may involve sensors and actuators, controllers, wired and wireless networking, control logic, programming on the web, mobile and device platforms. As important, you will be responsible for validating the solution in the lab and in the field using careful experimentation.
Minimum Requirements
B.S. or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related scientific/technical field; PhD preferred.
Fluent English is required
Experience working at the intersection of Digital and physical worlds in one or more of the following areas:
Developing and deploying IoT applications in the field including lab development and field evaluation and validation
Basic knowledge of sensors and industrial instrumentation, with experience in at least one area:
Industrial automation and control systems
Ethernet and serial industrial networking protocols
Pumps, VFDs and other industrial control equipment
Basic knowledge of building and programming devices with experience in at least one area:
PCB design and rapid prototyping
Embedded programming
IPC based control platforms
It is expected that sales will be realized 12-18 months from hire date. Specific success indicators will be drafted based on project deliverables.
Strong organizational skills, self-management, and ability to work well in global cross-functional teams to identify new product opportunities
